Internet of Things (IoT)
Course Videos
Proposed by Kevin Ashton in 1999, the Internet of Things (IoT) refers to identifiable objects and their virtual representation in an Internet-like structure.
Today, the term “Internet of Things” is commonly used to signify advanced connectivity devices, systems and services (that go beyond machine-to-machine communications and covers a variety of protocols, domains and applications.)
IoT is a concept (developed for network devices to detect and gather data and then share that data across the internet.) For example, we all stock our refrigerator with weekly veggies and fruits, now we connect a device (sensing what items are missing), and the device sends out the list to the neighboring store and books all missing items. A delivery person can then bring the fresh veggies and fruit to your doorstep.
